2023-2024 FOB Role Descriptions

FOB President

The President works closely with the Principal, PTA Board Members, FOB Board, SSC President(s), representatives and parents to organize and lead FOB activities throughout the school year. The President oversees the FOB budget and alignment of the budget to FOB goals, runs FOB meetings, and helps communicate FOB programs and progress toward goals of the school. Ensures LAUSD rules are being met and followed for all FOB events (ie: no fliers sent home in folders with FOB letterhead, proper forms, licenses, and permits are pulled for all FOB events, ensures no FOB events during school hours, has all events approved by board and most importantly through Principal.)

FOB Vice President

Support the president to achieve our mission of raising funds to pay for the vital things that LAUSD does not (primarily Teachers' Aides, PE & Art)

FOB Treasurer 

Bookkeeping. Pay Enrichment providers quarterly. Collect money from all school fundraisers. Prepare taxes or works with tax professional to ensure taxes are completed

FOB Secretary

Organize meeting FOB agendas, compile and publish meeting minutes. Participate in the communications committee (FOB website management, FOB calendar). Participate in overall FOB steering functions.

Annual Give

Lead the pledge campaign towards its mission of achieving 100% participation. Work with Treasurer on admin logistics such as managing incoming PayPal, check, & cash donations & tax receipts.

Bear Scare Lead

Oversees and leads all parts of annual bear scare fundraiser including: recruiting volunteers, working with room parent coordinators, managing high school volunteers, file permits with LAUSD, and more.

Beautification Lead

A chance to make Beethoven Beautiful! Involves coordinating and gathering families for clean up, possibly new planting, painting etc. Supply coffee/pastries or request donations. Heavily supported by Mrs. Evans (passionate gardening expert) and the amazing Pedro. No gardening experience necessary!

Beethoven Night Out

A great opportunity to build community. Coordinate with local restaurants for an all day or evening fundraiser. Promote using social media, school website, marquee, Buzz, flyers, etc. (Sometimes they provide a flyer and sometimes you have to create one). Coordinate check pick up (often mailed to school)

Book Fair Lead (2 person role)

Organize an event the students really look forward to twice per year. Schedule delivery/pick up of book fair and attend workshop (optional). Create schedule and recruit volunteers. (All day first two days--recess, lunch and after school remaining days.). Promote through social media, school website, marquee, Buzz, posters, etc.. Set up, organize/re-stock and pack up fair. Schedule teacher preview (provide breakfast pastries, coffee, etc.--reimbursed by PTA) and classroom previews. Manage all money.

Business Sponsorships

Connects with corporations and distributes marketing packet to offer opportunities to pay for advertising space at school. Liases with community, local businesses to support our fundraising efforts

Communication Lead

Attends meetings to ensure all important, necessary items are communicated with parents via Buzz newsletter. Post on Instagram and Facebook. Market E-scrip, Ralphs Club, etc to parents a few times a year.

Enrichments Lead (2 person role)

Coordinates getting K students to classes and oversees classes are run properly. Schedule all classes with enrichment providers (outside vendors, teachers and school admin), arrange location of classes, put together list of classes for registration both to go out in folders and manage students and classes in registration software, and ensure teachers, office staff and after school programs have current rosters at all times. Collect all funds that come in to handover to treasurer.

Fitness Challenge Lead 

Coordinates, plans, and facilitates Fitness Challenge in March each year. Requires working with Ms. Fields to schedule as it is during school hours. Sponsorships for prizes and snacks (water, fruit, etc). Ideas for bringing in pledges. Plan out obstacle course.

Grant Coordinator

Listens to needs of teachers and school, researches, writes, and submits grants to benefit school and teachers as a whole.

Graphic Designer

 

Room Parent Lead

Connects with the teacher to communicate needs of the classroom to parents. Keep Room Parents informed and keep them updated on upcoming fundraisers and events and volunteer opportunities.

Silent Auction Lead 

Collect auction items. Input all items on BiddingforGood. Market the auction to the school and beyond. Include Teacher Treats in auction.

Traffic Safety Volunteer

Puts out traffic cones every school day and puts them away after school starts.

Winter Wonderland Lead

Oversees and leads all parts of annual Winter Wonderland fundraiser including: volunteers, paperwork, delegation of roles and responsibilities, and more.

Webmaster

Updates website with upcoming fundraising events.
