Hello All,
As you know, we have two piles of mulch that we need to spread around the trees along the back fence of the large playground (Big Yard).
We are scheduling a time to do it this on TUESDAY after the holiday weekend and need your help.
PLEASE help! I know at the end of the school year we all get a bit tired, but if we each put in an hour or so, we can get it done!
Please share this email with those you think may be able to join us.
We will start promptly after the TUESDAY morning assembly and work until it is complete.
Bring gloves, pitch-forks, wheel-barrows, shovels, rakes, buckets, etc.
See you then. Have a great and safe holiday weekend.
Thanks,
John Ayers

Dear Parents,
The school year is coming to a close. The transformation our kids went thru over past school year is amazing. It is also amazing what a great group of parents we have at our school and what was accomplished working together with our teachers to help provide our children a great education.
As the school year is ending, we are asking for one last push to help end the year on high note and prepare the classrooms for 2010- 2011 school year. With budgets being cut left and right we would like to be proactive and ensure our teachers can have the supplies they need for our children in the classroom day one when we all come back.

Thank you and have a great summer.

Hello all,
The 5th grade parents will be selling strawberries with whipped cream and caramel apples after school tomorrow, THURSDAY, MAY 20. Sales will be at the Main entrance by the flagpole and at the Auditorium entrance. Bowls of fruit are $2.00 each. Strawberries are the Harvest of the Month fruit so please try some fresh produce. Fruit will be served with or without whipped topping and/or carmel.
This fundraiser replaces the Friday afternoon treat sale this week. All proceeds go towards funding the 5th grade culmination activities. We appreciate everyone's support. $2.00 a bowl of fruit makes a great after dinner dessert!
5th grade parents, if you can help prepare or sell (starting at 2:15PM), please respond to this message!
Many thanks from all the 5th graders!

TIP OF THE WEEK Some of the greenest cleaners are the ones you make yourself. Here are some sample recipes for simple, effective cleaners:
• Drain Cleaner: Pour a half-cup of baking soda down the sink and add at least a cup of vinegar. Cover the drain and wait a few minutes, then rinse with a mixture of boiling water and salt.
• Window Cleaner: Mix two ounces of vinegar with a quart of water in a spray bottle.
• Silver Polish: Put a sheet of aluminum foil into a plastic or glass bowl. Sprinkle the foil with salt and baking soda and fill the bowl with warm water. Soak your silver in the bowl and tarnish migrates to the foil. Dry and buff.
• Brass Cleaner: Cut a lemon in half, sprinkle it with salt and rub the lemon on the metal. Buff with a cloth.
• Rust Remover: Use vinegar to remove rust on nuts and bolts and other mineral deposits such as calcium deposits
YOU'VE BEEN STUNG Robin Shindle, you’ve been stung! Robin can be found volunteering at all the fundraising events during the school year. She is heavily involved in the 5th grade fundraisers. Robin, we appreciate all your support and help during the school year. You will be missed next year! Thank you!
Have a great week!
